I'm Ela, a NBC-HWC certified health and wellness coach, and I'm thrilled to be your guide and supporter on your journey to living a fulfilling and healthy life. My passion for helping others reach their maximum potential led me to embark on a coaching journey that began with my graduation from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, NY. There, I delved into innovative health coaching methods and practical lifestyle management techniques and explored over 100 dietary theories.
In my pursuit of knowledge, I earned a Plant-Based Nutrition Certification from the eCornell T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. Additionally, I hold certifications as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor and a Certified Health Coach with the American Council on Exercise and am a Tiny Habits® certified Coach. Each certification represents a commitment to staying at the forefront of health and wellness practices.
My earlier career from 2012-2016 saw me running a consulting business as a FertilityCare™ Practitioner with the Creighton Model Allied Health Education Fertility Practitioner Program. This experience deepened my understanding of individual health needs and the intricate connections between lifestyle and well-being.
My academic journey included a Doctoral degree in Plant Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology from Warsaw Agricultural University, Poland, and a M.Sc. in Medical Plants from the same institution. I dedicated ten years to medical research across first class labs, including the University of Virginia, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.
My diverse background allows me to bring a unique perspective to health coaching, blending scientific insights with practical strategies. I believe in the power of continuous learning and the importance of tailoring approaches to individual needs. Embarking on my health and wellness journey has been a fundamental part of my life story. From as far back as I can remember, I've maintained a keen awareness of my diet and consistently engaged in physical activity. This lifestyle kept me in good health for the majority of my life. However, in 2016, an unexpected change occurred—I began gaining weight despite my efforts.
Concerned about this shift, I delved into a comprehensive study of nutrition and its effects on the body. This deep dive revealed a fascinating revelation: certain foods can trigger inflammation, potentially leading to the development of diseases. Eager to understand this phenomenon firsthand, I decided to experiment with an elimination diet in 2017. I wanted to witness the direct impact of abstaining from certain foods on both my well-being and the number on the scale.
By the end of 2017, I noticed a significant improvement in how I felt, both physically and mentally. Buoyed by my positive results, I started sharing my newfound knowledge and experiences with friends and family. The desire to contribute more meaningfully to the well-being of others led me to formalize my role, and so, in 2018, I began my training to become a professional health and wellness coach.
Becoming a coach wasn't just a career choice; it was a passion-driven decision to share the valuable insights I'd gained. Armed with both personal experiences and a solid foundation in health and wellness, I aimed to guide others toward their own paths of improvement. The journey hasn't always been easy, but the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others keeps me motivated. Every client I work with is a unique story, and I am grateful to play a role in their transformative journeys toward better health and well-being.
I started Natural Life Choices® in 2019 to offer you a path to positive change and chronic disease prevention. Lifestyle-related chronic diseases, like heart disease, stroke and cancer account for 50% of deaths. Obesity, prediabetes and diabetes are reaching epidemic levels of prevalence in the United States and spreading globally. By embracing healthy eating, physical activity, stress management and quality sleep, we can significantly reduce our risk of most chronic diseases.
My role at Natural Life Choices® is to help you reach your health and wellness goals. Many of us believe we know what we should do but often lack the motivation to take the first step or continue the journey.
